Whidden waxes on sailing in Sardinia

As the CEO of the North Marine Group, Tom Whidden acknowledges he's lucky that his job allows - indeed requires - that he sail regularly to keep on top of the newest developments and see how his company can best respond to the needs of his customers.

This week, he's in Sardinia at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, where he's sharing helming duties on board the 122-foot 'Ghost' with owner Arnie Glimcher. Sardinia is a particular favourite of Whidden's. In fact, he calls it perhaps the nicest place in the world to sail.

We sailed together on Ghost on Thursday and on Friday morning, we had a wide-ranging chat during a short postponement about how the boats have changed over the 25 years he's been coming here.

A few highlights are HERE.

Look for more from Tom Whidden in next month's Yachting World.
