Najad buys Maxi and relaunches Aphrodite

A new yacht group was born today.

Linnéa Yacht Group consists of the Najad, Maxi and Aphrodite brands and has its sights set on being the third-largest boat producer in Europe.

Alfred van Wincoop, MD and 70% owner of new business explained his strategy: 'The three different yacht types appeal to different customer profiles, complementing each other perfectly.'

'Najad is a fast, comfortable and modern ocean cruiser of unsurpassed distinction. Maxi is an easy-sailing performance cruiser with a definite Scandinavian look.'
'Aphrodite is a classic cruiser with a traditional design and first-rate build quality.'

'The Linnéa Yacht Group wants to offer the market exclusive yachts characterized by Scandinavian design, beauty and individuality', said van Wincoop. 'Our existing range comprises yachts from 35 to 57 feet, built to satisfy the requirements of demanding customers.'

Maxi was bought from the Nimbus group and the boats will now be built in Najad's factory.

The Aphrodite range will be based on Najad hulls but will feature a top-end traditional finish.

The Maxi brand will be moved slightly up-market with a higher quality finish.

Seven new launches across the three brands are expected in the next year.
